The fratelli Story

Authentic Italian Hospitality

In 2025, global pizza maestro Vincenzo Abbate launched his first-ever international pizzeria — right here in Brisbane. And with that, Fratelli became Fratelli by Vincenzo Abbate.
Born in Naples and ranked among the world’s top 50 pizza chefs, Vincenzo carries a legacy that spans three generations of Neapolitan craftsmanship. His grandfather opened a pizzeria in the 1940s, his father followed in 1965, and Vincenzo has since spent over 30 years mastering the dough, the fire, and the flavour that define true Italian pizza.
But Fratelli isn’t just about tradition. It’s about reinvention. Vincenzo brings his signature philosophy to Australia — one that blends soulful technique with high-hydration, long-fermented doughs, and seasonal ingredients. Every dish reflects the heart of Naples, reimagined for modern Brisbane.
Fratelli by Vincenzo Abbate is more than a restaurant — it’s a landmark culinary moment. A place where heritage meets innovation, and pizza becomes an experience.

The Magic In The Hands

“It’s in his blood,” they say. Vincenzo’s technique, particularly in stretching the dough, is mesmerizing. What looks effortless is the result of years of dedication. The result? A pizza experience unlike any other.
But what truly sets him apart is his humility. “To do this job, you need sacrifice, love, and passion. You need to be humble, because there’s always something new to learn.”

A New Era For Australian Pizza

This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a culinary evolution. Vincenzo will spend time in Brisbane each year, mentoring local chefs, refining the menu, and bringing his signature flair to every oven-fired masterpiece.
At Fratelli, we don’t just serve pizza — we serve history, creativity, and the warmth of true Italian hospitality.
